Chukrum & Petruska

Virgilio Sieni revisits Stravinsky’s 1911 work, staging Russian theatre’s famous marionette, “the immortal and unhappy hero of every fair of all countries”. The show comes in two parts: the first, very visual part appears to loom up from a dreamlike and ancestral world; the second very danced show explores the states of the dancers’ bodies and souls. A shared dance and a dazzling sight that provides an exorcism of the tragedy of the human condition.
